So, we’ve been having some calls with Microsoft recently to discuss the performance of our CRM, we are looking to increase the amount of “stuff” it is doing in quite a big way soon and had some concerns that it would impact the performance speed of our CRM which, could be faster already..
After speaking with a Microsoft engineer who mentioned that performance was impacted by the amount of licences purchased. This was completely new information to me and I have not seen it documented anywhere by Microsoft so I decided to escalate the question to a higher tier 2 engineer. Here’s what I’ve been told:
Microsoft increase the amount of “Compute Time” our CRM has based on the amount of licences that have been purchased, these licences do not have to be assigned – they just need to be purchased.
Microsoft unsurprisingly did not share exactly how this calculation was done, whether it was done in bands (e.g 10 – 50 licences, 50-100 etc) or whether it was on a per licence dealio.
An interesting find anyway and one I hope to be able to test a bit and share findings at a later date..
